In addition to the Application Process requirements, the following steps are necessary:
- Student Visa . International students need an F-1 student visa to enter the USA. Before
the visa paperwork can begin, you need to send a Proof of Funds letter to the Admissions
Department
- A Proof of Funds letter is a statement from your bank, or a letter from the person
intending to pay for your schooling, proving that the financial requirement will be met during
the time you are enrolled at NTBI.
- I-20 Form . When the Admissions Office receives the Proof of Funds letter, they will send
you an I-20 form. You need this form in order to apply for an F-1 visa.
- Meet with American Consul . Once you receive the I-20 form, you must make an appointment
at the American Embassy for an interview with the Consul. (Canadian citizens are exempt from
this procedure). Be sure to take these documents to the Embassy for inspection:
- I-20 form
- Valid passport
- Financial documents
- You must prove to the US Consul that sufficient funds are accessible to undertake a
program of study. You must show ties to your home country and that you plan to return there
when studies are completed.
Upon approval, an F-1 visa, which you will use to enter the USA, will be granted.
You are responsible for maintaining legal F-1 status. This visa will not allow off-campus
employment during your first year of study in the USA. Therefore, you must have sufficient
funds with you, or have planned regular financial support, in order to study at
NTBI.
- Non-English speaking applicants are required to take an English proficiency exam. For
more information, contact the NTBI Admissions Department for an interview regarding your
exam.
Contact Admissions
If you have any questions regarding the application process, you may contact an admissions
counselor during business hours by phone, email, or mail. Admissions for both campuses are
