Married students live in apartments, either in the main building, in adjacent homes, or in the nearby community. In the main school building, most apartments do not have running water or bathroom facilities. Bathrooms are located on each floor. The apartments vary in size, the number of bedrooms depending on the size of the family. Each apartment includes a living room/kitchen area and a bedroom that will accommodate a full-sized bed. You are welcome to bring personal furniture and decorations to set up house. Some furniture as well as refrigerators and stoves are available through the school. A microwave oven is recommended. You may bring a small window air conditioner (110V) to use. (Waukesha campus: married students are requested to bring their own furniture, unless they are international students coming from overseas). A large laundry facility is located on the main floor, and a schedule is posted to coordinate its use. ChildrenNursery and childcare are provided so that mothers can participate in class. The childcare facility and nursery are located in the main building. There is also an enclosed playground area on campus. A city park with a playground structure is within walking distance. Several educational options are available through public and Christian schools. Telephone and fax numbers for the schools are available upon request. Married Ladies AcademicsMarried ladies without children, or those whose children are out of the home, are required to take a minimum of ten credit hours per semester. To accommodate increased demands and responsibilities, mothers with children at home are required to take only five credit hours per semester, and audit additional hours. In both cases, the required classes are designated. Husbands and fathers are required to take a full course load; the minimum is 16 credit hours per semester. |
